Lanzhou - Capital of Gansu Province

We arrived back in Lanzhou from Xiahe after a 4 hour bus journey with a maniac driver who forced both vehicles and pedestrians off the road regularly as well as overtaking on blind corners.
Lanzhou is the largest city in Gansu and has a population of about 1.7million. It is also one of the most polluted cities in China due to its position in a river basin and often with stagnent air and sand blown in from the deserts.
Here are two photos taken at night. one showing the traffic and lights of the city centre and the other captures us buying fruit at a stall to take on the train the next day.
