A number of people have been asking me how I will be travelling on this journey so I thought I should explain that we will not be hiking with packs on our backs but taking public transport - trains a lot along the China leg especially with buses and taxis as well. Despite the ethnic troubles in Kyrgyzstan we hope to be able to cross the Touragat pass from Kashgar to go via Naryn to Bishkek and from there on to Uzbekistan passing through Kasakastan.
Along with me there will be John Liley, Graham Nicholson, John Bedford and Seamus Filor. Three of us are from Bollington in Cheshire, one from Alderley Edge in Cheshire and one from Edinburgh in Scotland.
